A poly(p‐phenylenevinylene) derivative (PPV–TPA)] and a series of statistical copolyfluorenes (PF–TPA)] containing oxadiazole and triphenylamine segments along the main chain were synthesized by the Heck reaction and nickel‐mediated coupling, respectively. The PF–TPA copolyfluorenes with relatively low contents of oxadiazole and triphenylamine units were readily soluble in common organic solvents, whereas the other copolyfluorenes displayed lower solubility. PPV–TPA showed excellent solubility in solvents such as tetrahydrofuran (THF), dichloromethane, chloroform, and toluene. Thin films of the polymers absorbed light in the range of 375–396 nm and had optical band gaps of 2.76–2.98 eV. They emitted blue‐green light with a maximum at 414–522 nm. The fluorescence quantum yields in THF solutions were 0.08–0.53. The copolyfluorene PF–TPA thin films with high contents of oxadiazole and triphenylamine moieties emitted pure blue light that remained stable even after annealing at 150 °C for 4 h in air. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The normalized Born approximation has been suggested as a ratiometric method in fluorescence molecular tomography (FMT) applications, to account for heterogeneity variations. The method enabled practical inversions, as it offered fluorescence reconstruction accuracy over a wide range of absorption heterogeneity, while also accounting for unknown experimental factors, such as the various system gains and losses. Yet it was noted that scattering variations affect the robustness and accuracy. Herein we decompose the effects of absorption and scattering and capitalize on the recent development of hybrid FMT/x-ray computed tomography imaging methods to proposed amendments to the method, which improve the overall accuracy of the approach.  相似文献

In this Letter, we present a method that removes the contribution of the boundaries on the measurements from highly scattering media, transforming the signals captured from a bounded medium to measurements that would have been obtained if no boundary were present. This approach opens new possibilities in tomographic imaging in diffuse media as it eliminates the need for explicitly modeling boundaries and significantly simplifies reconstruction requirements.  相似文献

Fluorescence tomography of diffuse media can yield optimal three-dimensional imaging when multiple projections over 360 degrees geometries are captured, compared with limited projection angle systems such as implementations in the slab geometry. We demonstrate how it is possible to perform noncontact, 360 degrees projection fluorescence tomography of mice using CCD-camera-based detection in free space, i.e., in the absence of matching fluids. This approach achieves high spatial sampling of photons propagating through tissue and yields a superior information content data set compared with fiber-based 360 degrees implementations. Reconstruction feasibility using 36 projections in 10 degrees steps is demonstrated in mice.  相似文献

In this work, we propose a cost-effective approach allowing one to evaluate the acoustic field generated by a turbulent jet. A turbulence-resolving simulation of an incompressible turbulent round jet is performed for a Reynolds number equal to 460,000 thanks to the massively parallel high-order flow solver Incompact3d. Then a formulation of Lighthill's solution is derived, using an azimuthal Fourier series expansion and a compactness assumption in the radial direction. The formulation then reduces to a line source theory, which is cost-effective to implement and evaluate. The accuracy of the radial compactness assumption, however, depends on the Strouhal number, the Mach number, the observation elevation angle, and the radial extent of the source. Preliminary results are showing that the proposed method approaches the experimental overall sound pressure level by less than 4 dB for aft emission angles below 50°.  相似文献

This paper attempts to prove the D-optimality of the saturated designs X1 and X11 of order 22, already existing in the current literature. The corresponding non-equivalent information matrices M1=(X1)TX1 and M11=(X11)TX11 have the maximum determinant. Within the application of a specific procedure, all symmetric and positive definite matrices M of order 22 with determinant the square of an integer and det(M1) are constructed. This procedure has indicated that there are 26 such non-equivalent matrices M, for 24 of which the non-existence of designs X such that XTX =M is proved. The remaining two matrices M are the information matrices M1 and M11.  相似文献

We study viscous gravity-driven films flowing over periodically undulated substrates. Linear analysis describes steady flow along small amplitude corrugations for films of arbitrary thickness. Solving the resulting system numerically, we demonstrate resonance (or, possibly, near resonance) and identify different behaviours for thin, intermediate and thick films. Approximating the leading-order velocity profile by the free surface value allows for an analytic solution, which – in the limit of high Reynolds numbers – recovers the different regimes and reveals the relevant physical mechanisms. Our results support the view that the resonance is associated with an interaction of the undulated film with capillary-gravity waves travelling against the mean flow direction. As a consequence, the resonance peak is attained under conditions that render the wave phase velocity equal to zero in the laboratory reference frame, and thus permit direct exchange of energy between the steadily deformed film and the free surface.  相似文献

Steady film flow along a vertical wall with isolated step changes is studied numerically for Reynolds numbers Re ∼ O(10−3–102) and capillary numbers Ca ∼ O(10−2–101). The lengthscale of free surface capillary features upstream of a step-in or step-out decreases uniformly with Re and switches from a −1/3 to a −1/2 power-law dependence on Ca. The height of the capillary features first grows with Re, but eventually diminishes when inertia forces overpower capillary forces. Simultaneously, the key dynamics move from upstream to downstream of the step, and switch from capillary arrest to inertial re-directioning of the falling liquid. The latter mechanism involves a low-pressure region originating from the edge of the step. At a step-out, a new free surface feature appears with increasing Re, which is caused by liquid overshoot in the horizontal direction and is restrained initially by capillary and subsequently by inertial forces. Simple scaling arguments are shown to predict many of the above characteristics.  相似文献

We study viscous gravity-driven films flowing over periodically undulated substrates. Linear analysis describes resonance in steady flow along small bottom corrugations for films of arbitrary thickness. Depending on the dimensionless film thickness we find different regimes for the resonance, which is associated with the interaction of the undulated film with capillarygravity waves traveling against the flow. Nonlinear resonance produces higher harmonics and bistable resonance. The higher harmonics are due to higher harmonics resonance and due to the nonlinear coupling to lower harmonics. For the bistable resonance we derive a minimum model showing that the bistability corresponds essentially to that of the driven Duffing oscillator. (© 2008 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
